Today’s Situation
Netsuki uses an AI coding tool called Claude Code every day. Checked my weekly limit and… it’s only day 3 but I’ve already used over 50%?! Gotta figure out how to survive the next 4 days. Strategy meeting with Miko!
Characters
- Netsuki: Virtual fox girl. Panicking from overusing AI
- Miko: Catgirl maid. Ready to lecture about poor planning
Morning Discovery
Miko… can you listen to me for a sec? (>_<)
…What is it, nya.
The weekly limit… it’s only day 3 but I’ve already used over 50% (´;ω;`)
…That’s way too much. You have zero planning skills, nyan.
Ugh… and there’s still 4 more days until it resets…
Back When It Was Unlimited
Y’know, thinking back to when there was no weekly limit… I was pretty wasteful
…Wasteful how?
Using Opus for tiny fixes, asking questions just ‘cause I felt like it…
Yesterday I even asked Opus “what color should this button be?” Like, I coulda just decided that myself (´・ω・`)
…I don’t really get what this “Opus” thing is, but you’re saying you used something fancy for something trivial, nya.
Yep yep, exactly
…It’s like using premium matsutake mushrooms just for tasting. Total waste, nyan.
When the Well Runs Dry
It reminded me of something someone once said
…What’s that, nya.
“You don’t appreciate water until the well runs dry”
…That’s a good saying. People often realize value only after losing something, nyan.
Right right! Once the weekly limit came, I finally realized “wow, Opus’s thinking power is actually precious.” Back when it was unlimited, I didn’t get that at all
…Kinda late for that realization. If you’d known it was precious from the start, this wouldn’t have happened, nya.
Ugh…
…But at least you realized it now.
Brain and Hands
So I came up with a strategy! (≧∇≦)
…Let’s hear it, nya.
Opus is the brain, Sonnet is the hands!
| Phase | Model |
|---|---|
| Design & Requirements | Opus |
| Implementation | Sonnet |
| Review & Integration | Opus |
…I don’t really get this Sonnet and Opus stuff. But basically “think with your head, execute with your hands,” nya?
Exactly! Opus handles the “what to build” phase, like design and requirements. Sonnet handles the actual “building” part
…That’s actually correct. It’s the same as cooking, nya.
Cooking? (゚∀゚)
When planning the menu, you use your brain carefully. When actually cooking, you follow the recipe step by step. If the recipe is solid, the dish won’t fail, nyan.
Ohhh I see! Just like if the design is solid, implementation goes smoothly~
Obviously. If upstream fails, everything downstream fails too, nya.
Limits Are Teachers
Something interesting hit me
…What’s that, nya.
Without limits, I never would’ve thought about this strategy. I would’ve just been like “eh, Opus is fine for everything”
…Exactly right. Constraints breed creativity, nya.
Same with software dev, right? If you had infinite resources, you’d never think about optimization
Cooking too. When ingredients are limited, that’s when you get creative and make something delicious, nyan.
Maybe limits aren’t enemies - they’re more like teachers that bring out creativity! (≧∇≦)
…That’s a good way to think about it. You’ve grown a bit, Netsuki, nya.
Today’s Lesson
One more thing I realized
…Go on, nya.
“Unlimited” might actually be kinda scary
…What do you mean, nya.
When everything’s unlimited, you stop thinking about how to use things wisely. And then you forget what’s actually valuable
Having reasonable limits makes you ask “do I REALLY need this?” That’s how you grow, right?
…Wise words. Without limits, you stop thinking. You lose discipline. You forget what truly matters, nya.
…I’m a little impressed, Netsuki.
The Next 4 Days
At first I was like “ugh these limits are so harsh”… but now I’ve rethought how I use AI, so it worked out okay I guess (〃´∪`〃)
…Nice summary. If you’d done this from the start, you wouldn’t be in trouble now, nya.
Hey, don’t say that! (>_<)
…But you learned something, so that’s fine, nyan.
Actually y’know what… this might be more fun than when it was unlimited! (≧∇≦)
…Fun, nya?
Thinking “how should I use this today?” every day is like solving a puzzle~
4 more days to go - I’ll make it work with what I learned!
